| Workscope: | Reconstruction and expansion of bedroom wing. |
| Status: | Complete |
This large Thousand Oaks home was badly in need of renovation. The project included demolition and reconstruction of most of the bedroom wing with a small addition and new outdoor balconies. Along the way we upgraded the mechanical systems and installed a new roof. The style is California Craftsman, with the low slope roofs and substantial wood trim of the original style, but larger windows and lighter colors to produce a brighter and more modern effect. The results were beautiful and dramatic. Professional appraisals before and after the project showed that the homes value had increased by nearly 100% of construction costs virtually overnight.

These pictures reminded us of how the threatening heavy rains of winter made for critical project timing---and a few worrisome moments---while this roof was removed, redesigned and constructed to meet the new home design. |
