| A family with growing children needed
more space in their 1970’s California Traditional
redwood house. Distinctive Builders provided design
consultation and construction services to develop the
third story addition of a large home office featuring
panoramic bay views. A dark, uninspiring foyer was also
vaulted to two stories with a spectacular Mount Tam-view
picture window at the second-story balcony.
A crane was utilized as the home had very limited access to the new addition’s construction area. Additional care and scheduling was required to meet the challenges of the home’s location on a well-traveled residential street and occupation by the family throughout the remodeling process. |

This beautifully crafted addition blends seamlessly with the original house to produce a finished product that provides much needed space while greatly enhancing the symmetry and curb appeal of the house. |
