This typical El Cerrito house was in need of seismic reinforcement, expansion and updating. The owners also wanted to relocate their master bedroom to the rear of the house, away from busy Fairmount Avenue. We designed a simple master suite addition that extended to the rear while giving direct access to an existing deck. Hardwood flooring and trim details were selected to match the existing house. The resulting spaces blend in seamlessly.
The former cramped and dark kitchen was also updated with a new window to the rear deck, opening skylight, maple cabinets and sparkling (and practical) white Corian counters.
