Booker Avenue, Sausalito

This Sausalito hillside home overlooking Richardson Bay featured panoramic views and minimalist modern design that 1950’s architect Henry Würster is famous for. The challenge was to update the house while preserving the essential character of the original.

Distinctive Builders completely remodeled the bathrooms and kitchen as well as updating the interior floor plan and finishes. Extensive seismic reinforcement and upgrading of lighting and mechanical systems were also included in the project.

The result is a fully modern, light-filled home that integrates beautifully with the spectacular Sausalito setting.

A rather narrow and dark entry was transformed with skylights, transom window, state-of-the-art lighting and custom woodwork and glass stair-rail. Opening up the pre-existing floor plan made this once remote and dreary kitchen an entertainment hub. Ultra contemporary touches include custom cabinetry, stainless steel artistry and beautiful granite countertops.
